I’ve always been into music since a young age.
When I was little I used to have piano lessons and always enjoyed listening to music.
I came over from Russia in 1995 and in 1996 started taking drum lessons at Mortimer Wilson School. During school and college I spent a lot of my spare time in the school’s recording studio, learning about recording, sound engineering and mixing, jamming with various people. In ‘97 I joined a band called “The Heat” and spent a few years playing with them. During that time we gigged round the local area and recorded a 5 track CD. During College/University years I’ve also done a lot of DJ’ing under the name of DJ Moscow...
Then in our Karate Club we formed a band for a Christmas Party, which happened to stay together for longer than just one gig. The band changed and evolved over the last few years and I’m currently a proud member of Nine Hundred More.
I enjoy jamming and gigging.
Inlfuences
The main stongest influence are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I’m into such a wide diverse variety of music that my cd collection includes Rage Against The Machine, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Marilyn Manson, Green Day, Primus, Kid Rock, Korn, Hendrix through to Prodigy, Jamiroquay, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Massive Attack, Joe Satriani, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Audioslave, James Brown, Beatles etc. etc. etc. I like anything with a good beat, funky grooves and basslines. Generally any music that makes you feel good and express yourself when you’re performing.
